The SageCliffe Story

From the day in 1980 when the Bryan family drove down Baseline Road and chose this land as "their farm," it was clear this land couldn't be simply "theirs." The rocks, the cliffs, the gorge, the soaring, dizzying expanse of it all made it irrefutable. This land was meant to be shared.

There is a prevalent belief that humans must come to places of nature only in small numbers, and silently, tiptoeing in and out so as to seem as if they were never there. But we are here. And at SageCliffe, a decision was made, long ago, to trust people. They were trusted not to destroy or ignore their surroundings. But they were equally trusted not to hold back all the many wonderful things a human is capable of.

A decision was made, and a leap of faith was taken: Create venues, design buildings, plant vineyards and apples, make stages. All so that people can come and experience as fully as possible the greatness of nature. And more: That they then would be changed for the better. And more: That they would share that change, thereby bettering many more than just themselves. And more: That they would thereby give honor to the natural environment that began the entire process.
